The Inclusive National Justice, Economic & Civic Transformation Party (INJECT) leader Morara Kebaso has slammed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over what he termed as "tribal-driven politics."

Citing a video of Gachagua speaking in Machakos in a statement on his official X account on Saturday, March 22, Kebaso condemned the former DP’s unwavering focus on Mt. Kenya politics, arguing that it perpetuates poor leadership and national disunity.

In the video, which Morara shared on his account, Gachagua asserted that Mt. Kenya has the potential to remain in government for the next 100 years.

Kebaso said the comments would make it difficult for him to convince Gen Zs that Gachagua had their agenda in mind.

"How do I convince Gen Zs that this speech, coming from a leader of such great influence, represents the change they were fighting for? I found it difficult to continue associating the Gen Z movement with this," posted Kebaso.

The INJECT Party leader further argued that Kenya’s long history of tribal-centered politics has significantly contributed to corruption and a lack of accountability.

He adds that he fully supports the idea of opposition figures working together only if a foundational agenda is established.

The outspoken Gen Z advocate rose to prominence last year after using social media to highlight unfulfilled Ruto administration promises, especially on the construction of infrastructure in various parts of the country.
